How we work

The Interior Design Process is how Upstage Interior Design works with our clients from the outset of the project all the way through to its completion. Below you will see each phase of the interior design process, and since we have broken it down into steps you can understand how an entire project works. This applies to our in-person interior design service. If you are interested in E-Design, please click here to visit our E-Design page.

The Interior Design Process:

Step 1

Interior Design Consultation: We have an initial meeting at your residence, walk through the areas you would like worked on, determine the objectives for this interior design project including the scope of work, your style, needs & desires for your space.

Step 2

Proposal: We provide you with a proposal that is based on the breadth of work as determined during our initial design consultation. The proposal outlines details of the project, timeline, rate, etc.

Step 3

Space Planning: You are provided with space plans/layouts to choose from. These options are presented and you can approve or request changes until we the layout that is best suited to you.

Step 4

Conceptual Design: After approving the space plan you are presented with a conceptual design depicting the proposed look & feel for your space; includes: mood board, color palette, renderings, samples, materials, etc.

Step 5

Furniture: Upon approval of the conceptual design, you are provided with a detailed list of all pieces & materials (i.e. light fixtures, furniture, tiles, etc.) to choose from. Then Upstage Interior Design purchases & coordinates for delivery & installation.

Step 6

Renovation: The contractor & trades people get to work. Upstage Interior Design regularly visits, is available to answer any questions & provide support. All aspects of the work are managed to ensure a smooth process that yields impeccable results.

Step 7

Installation: Once the physical labor is completed, Upstage Interior Design finalizes the work by arranging and installing all moveable items. You space is styled and accessorized and each and every last detail is taken care of.

Step 8

The Reveal: The final interior design is revealed to you and your dream that you had in your mind has finally become an incredible reality!
